Friday 11th – so close!

1140. 60+ Mixed. Our strong crew got confidence from hauling in Sketrick in the final 500m to come 3rd behind Dundrum and Vijf Zalmen. A tough heat and into the final as one of the fastests boats.

1340. NBRC Open Mixed qualified for the final with a fast time. Job done, both mixed crews through to their finals.

The Mixed 60+ final was a cliffhanger. The fastest crews battling it out for the medals and despite a very strong showing in the final 500m our crew could not make up 1 more metre on Vijf Zalmen to get bronze despite being cheered on by a big NBRC crowd on Hulme Hill.

And the racing ended for the day with our Mixed Open crew who worked very hard to get 10th place in a strong field. The clubs and crews are getting stronger every Worlds.

At the end of the day our juniors went out for a practice ahead of their Saturday finals…..whilst others popped to the beer tent.
