In this world of social media there are many sources of updates/photos/comments on Skiffie World’s 2025. So rather than write an article, further down we have used some of your words from various sources to reflect on a fantastic week in Stranraer.
But first….

All the races were broadcast by Sportvolgen and many are available here. Many of you watched at home, on holidays and even at Wimbledon!!
And the last words are all from you…….
That was a great experience!! Thanks to all the amazing people that put so much work getting us there!!
Really missing it! Found myself asking Chatgpt what a training programme for 2028 would look like…
What’s the prize? A dinner date with Sandy?…2nd prize is two dinner dates with Sandy (guess who?)
So tired last night, packed bike helmet into pannier bag and into car and STILL drove 3 miles before realising my bike, rack and cover were still on the campsite 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well done, everyone! It’s been fantastic to be part of this!
A huge thank you from your Beachmasters team – those on duty were all absolutely fab but we must thank all NOB’s for their help over the week – you were there to help launch our teams – help recover them and the support on Skiffie (aka Hume 😉) Hill was amazing – and even when not at Stranraer you were there cheering and supporting from train seats and stations, desks at work , Wimbledon finals and while on holiday in Croatia and Sardinia! What a fantastic week we have all had. Easy oars now …… for a wee bit …… and safe home to our towers today
What a fab week. Thankyou to all at NOB for making Chris and I so welcome. See you soon and here’s to what’s to come!😊
What a week, not going to forget this one in a hurry! Well done everyone. The sky tonight was indeed stunning. Sleep well everyone and safe travels home
Ann and I have FOMO – discussing making one FBTS early eve a skiffie meet up!
Well done everyone, I thoroughly enjoyed my first worlds, such a fun, exciting and exhausting experience! Thank you to everyone for their efforts to make it all happen. I hope those still over there are going to enjoy some drinks tonight! I’m going to have a vodka shortly in a sweltering hot London (and I did genuinely watch both the Open Finals while I was on Centre Court!)
Results!!!! 19 crews raced/21 including composites – 15 top 15 finishes and 17 incl composites.
Thank you to everyone who set up, packed drove boats, came early before their races to set up, stayed to watch till the bitter end even though they weren’t rowing. Thank you for making the week possible xxx
Found Henman Hill, has nothing on Hume Hill!
Juniors be very proud of yourselves!! First experience of worlds rowing and you represented your club brilliantly!
Tuning in from Sardinia where it’s only marginally hotter than Costa del Stranraer. Good luck today!
@Duncan you had one job today!
What club does that get you into Clive?
It’s like Yorkshire finishing 7th in the 2012 Olympic medal table
Too exhausting and exciting to watch 😆 Fabulous row guys
I had to restrain myself from shouting on the train!
What a row! Go NB
What a sprint to the line! Took a couple of lengths an out of Sketrick in the last 200m
Thanks to all 6 of you staying at Low Dinduff, for inviting everyone around last night 🥳 it was a lovely evening. Shame about your neighbour 😳 and then sorry we all scarpered without helping to properly tidy up. See you later and good luck to all those racing today!!
I have also asked Claire’s next door neighbour if he will step in should anyone be unavailable. No response yet.

Anybody available to the beach please asap. SJB is currently being towed back to shore by a safety boat. I think everyone aboard is safe and well, it’s probably a technical issue.
Amazing effort chaps. Serendipity is a wonderful thing! er…Ladies…….
Amazing rowing! I was on the edge of my train seat watching the live stream, so pleased for everyone 💪

Go NOBS! Tricky conditions have nothing on you guys! Coxes, rowers – you will smash it 💪🏅
The Americans are heat 1 so please help them if you are there.
Explaining to my old ma how she can watch the live-streamed races – is the bow number in the boat the lane number we’re in (eg 6) or does each boat have a unique number that will be in bow all week?
Amanda, do you have an official time for when weighing will take place, from the organisers?
Superb feature…love the story of Stranraer’s regeneration through Skiffie coastal rowing. So proud to be part of this movement.
Also, what’s with the ducks?…..Newbie here 🤗
